ReCENTERED HEALING GROUP
FOR BIPoC WOMEN
Join us to Recenter and Connect!
What we will do together in this facilitated psychoeducational healing group?
Together, we will create a supportive communal space to explore and reflect on our understanding of racialized trauma in the body, including answers to these questions:
What is racialized stress or trauma?
How does it impact us individually and collectively?
How does it show up in our bodies?
Where to begin healing?
Why does healing in community matters?
We will also tune into our body using mindfulness. Additionally, we will explore why creating a new culture that centers bodies of color instead of white bodies can start with healing trauma in your own body of color by learning to settle it.
“Because culture lives in our bodies, it usually trumps all things cognitive — ideas, philosphies, convictions, principles, and laws. In many cases, it even supersedes human desires and needs. Change culture and you change lives. You can also change the course of history . . .”
Who should attend?
For all self-identifying BIPoC women exploring their racial identity and who are interested in:
1) Deepening their understanding of racialized stress and trauma as part of their unique experiences as a socialized woman and a person of color, and 2) in working with the body as well as emotions to mend this wound.
